Puneet Singh is a Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of experience in the psychology field. She has worked as a therapist in the private and public sector, as a researcher and lecturer at Macquarie University, and as a supervisor for training psychologists. She is passionate about providing high quality therapeutic care and is dedicated to helping clients overcome unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and experiences in order to create a life of vitality and meaning.
Puneet creates an environment in which clients feel comfortable to share and explore their issues while also discovering the factors that may be holding them back. She balances helping clients to emotionally process these issues while also providing practical strategies to utilize outside of therapy. Clients find this to be an empowering approach.
Therapy is specifically tailored to each individual as she recognises the uniqueness of each person. She uses evidence-based treatment and past experiences of what has worked with clients to choose an effective treatment. Therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
Puneet has received specialist training in the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders, adolescent wellbeing, and overcoming negative life patterns and self-destructive behaviour (e.g. in relationships, friendships, work).
Puneet believes a good therapeutic relationship is paramount for individuals to share their vulnerabilities and discover their inner courage, strength and resilience. Clients would describe Puneet as warm, authentic, and helpful.
