Rita has been dedicated to offering high quality counselling to people of all ages and from different backgrounds and life circumstances for 25 years. Rita’s extensive experience and knowledge led to the publication of the Fairfax book ‘Stop Surviving and Live Your Life – A journey towards fulfilling your potential,’. Rita has a deep understanding of human behaviour, mental health and psychological development. Her passion is to encourage clients to trust and believe in themselves so they can make a shift from helplessness to empowerment.
Rita uses many modalities and caters to the individual needs of the client. Therapeutic techniques include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, Solution focused therapy, Psycho-education, Psychodynamic therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Even though Rita’s approach is straightforward and honest she is highly respectful of her clients and their well-being is paramount in the therapeutic relationship. Rita always holds her clients’ best interests at heart.
Rita has also worked extensively in various organisations as a facilitator developing and conducting workshops on communication skills, stress management, personality profiling, goal setting, conflict resolution and life planning. She also has extensive experience in coaching managers and leaders in the workplace.
