Ivana Bacovic


Ivana holds general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Ivana practices in line with the Ethics and Ethical Guidelines issued by these bodies. Ivana is a bilingual clinician who can provide therapy in English and Serbian and has a strong passion for mental health and general wellbeing. She is approachable, passionate and committed to building strong therapeutic relationships with a client-centred, humanistic and strengths based approach. Her style is warm, respectful and collaborative. She considers the therapeutic relationship as a key aspect of therapy and endeavours to create a safe environment for her clients. Ivana utilises an integrative approach to therapy which acknowledges the individual needs of clients and how these may change throughout their life depending on the situations and stressors they experience.

Ivana places emphasis on working collaboratively with family members and caregivers, as well as multidisciplinary teams including general practitioners, allied health professionals and schools to gain a deep understanding of the client to inform her treatment methods. Ivana takes a holistic approach to psychology, emphasising evidence based treatments and research to inform and tailor treatment plans.

Her practice is underpinned by Acceptance and Commitment techniques, mindfulness and compassion focussed principles and informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Schema Informed Therapy. She enjoys working across the lifespan, and has a particular interest in working in the areas of anger, addictions, anxiety and children. Ivana is an LGBTIQA+ Ally and her pronouns are she/her.

Ivana is lifelong learner and is committed to further education, training, personal and professional development. She is reliable, diligent, dedicated and has a strong work ethic. She is driven by the values of clinical excellence in the delivery of mental health services with the hope of improving mental health outcomes for individuals.
