Sofia Sakellaropoulos

Psychologist

Sofia is a fully registered psychologist with AHPRA and a member with the Australian Psychological Society. She has been working with individuals and couples in the private practice setting for a decade.

Sofia is passionate about the client and therapist journey and improving one’s life through understanding a client’s background in combination with providing tailored skills and strategies to reduce unwanted symptoms. Sofia’s approach usually includes a combination of Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Sofia is committed to setting up a safe and comfortable space for each client. In addition, Sofia believes it is imperative that both therapist and client are clear about the client’s therapeutic goals at the beginning stages of therapy in order to work on a plan collaboratively enabling a clear direction of how to proceed and achieve change in their life, this including a level of analysis of background, insight into themselves and their situation, the client’s values and tailored strategies to reduce behaviours and symptoms that are inhibiting their work and personal lives.

Sofia’s clients would describe her as upfront and honest, warm and empathetic.
