Stewart D’Silva
Assessment Psychologist
Stewart completed his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Psychology across The University of Auckland, Auckland University of Technology and Massey University in New Zealand, and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
With almost a decade of experience as a psychologist across Australia and New Zealand, Stewart is extremely passionate about psychological assessment and working closely with young people (ages 6-16+), their families/carers, and their schools to come to a shared understanding of how to best support the struggling learner. By integrating information from interviews, behavioural observations, and testing, he analyses the young person’s current situation and collaborates with schools to create easy to read and meaningful reports with practical recommendations and plans. Acknowledging and celebrating all the young person CAN do, while supporting developing areas of knowledge and skills is a key facet of his practice.
Stewart also loves working closely with schools to design and deliver Professional Learning for teachers and special educators who want to learn more about screening, assessing, and intervening for young people at risk. This process keeps the young person in the safe space of school as concerns and differences are explored by educators, encourages data-driven informed referrals to be built, and, importantly, reduces panic-referrals to clinicians.
Stewart’s clients describe him as extremely down-to-earth and engaging. He is known for the depth and quality of his assessments and the insightful guidance he offers in accordance with the findings from his interviews and assessments.
Stewart runs his interviews and assessments from both our Mckinnon and Camberwell Clinics on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. He offers both in-person and Telehealth appointments.
